Privacy and essential website technology

Cookie policy

How YourGame.ie uses cookies and similar technologies.

Last updated: 9 August 2026

Our current approach

YourGame.ie currently uses cookies and similar browser technologies only where they are needed to operate accounts, keep members signed in, protect forms from automated abuse and maintain the security of the service.

We do not currently use advertising cookies, behavioural tracking cookies, conversion-tracking pixels or optional analytics cookies. Because the technologies described below are used for essential account and security functions, they are not switched off through a consent banner.

Essential technologies we use

Supabase authentication

Supabase provides the account and sign-in service used by YourGame.ie. It stores authentication information in cookies whose names generally begin with sb-. These cookies allow the site to recognise an active signed-in session, refresh it securely and complete account or password recovery flows. Authentication cookies may remain on the device until the member signs out, the session expires, or the cookie is removed in the browser. Short-lived verification information may also be stored while an authentication flow is being completed.

Cloudflare Turnstile

Cloudflare Turnstile protects sign-in, registration and public forms from bots and abuse. It runs security checks in the browser and creates a short-lived verification token. Depending on the Cloudflare security configuration, it may also use a cf_clearance cookie to remember that a visitor has passed a security challenge. Its duration is controlled by the applicable Cloudflare security setting and may end earlier if the security status of the session changes.

Why these technologies are necessary

Without the authentication technologies, members could not reliably sign in or keep their accounts secure. Without the Turnstile security check, account and public forms would be materially more vulnerable to automated registrations, spam and abuse. Blocking or deleting essential cookies may therefore prevent sign-in or other protected features from working.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can inspect, block or delete cookies using your browser settings. The controls differ between browsers and devices. If you delete authentication cookies, you may be signed out and asked to complete another security check.

If our use of cookies changes

If YourGame.ie introduces optional analytics, advertising or other non-essential tracking technologies, we will update this policy and obtain consent before those technologies are activated. Any consent control will provide a clear way to reject optional cookies and to change that choice.
